The Schwarzenbach Dam is the largest reservoir in the northern Black Forest and measures approximately 2.5 km in length. The dam is located at an altitude of 668.5 meters between the Black Forest High Road and the Murg Valley on the L 83, approximately 10 km from Forbach. The water is conveyed through underground and aboveground pressure tunnels and pipes to the power plant in Forbach for electricity generation.
